Toronto's first craft beer

Joseph Bloor was an innkeeper, brewer and land speculator in the early 1800’s in Toronto. He founded the Village of Yorkville and is the namesake for Toronto's Bloor Street. He operated a hotel on King Street and established a brewery in Rosedale Valley in 1830. As one of Toronto’s founders and earliest brewers, Joseph serves as our inspiration for the Bloor Street Brewing Company. We believe Joseph was passionate about his beer and, probably a whole lot of other things. Our brand identity for Bloor Street Brewing aims to reflect his legacy and provide a glimpse into his character. We salute Joseph and raise a glass in his honour.
